SKOVORODA FEST 2026 | H<\/strong>OME EDITION<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

SKOVORODA FEST<\/strong> is an annual open community festival that has been bringing Wroc\u0142aw residents together around multiculturalism, solidarity and dialogue since 2020. It is inspired by the values of Hryhorii Skovoroda<\/strong>: freedom, mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Held to mark Ukraine\u2019s Independence Day, the festival presents contemporary Ukrainian culture as an important part of multicultural Wroc\u0142aw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, we\u2019re meeting at Ruska 46<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s Home Edition<\/strong> will take place at CUKR and the Neon Courtyard, a space that is home to Fundacja Ukraina as well as other organisations and neighbourhood initiatives. We want to show you this place from the inside, introduce you to the people who make it what it is and invite you to celebrate together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 22 August, we\u2019ll open the doors to our home wider than usual and fill it with music, art, workshops, books, great food and plenty of opportunities to meet. SKOVORODA FEST is also a space for families. Our youngest visitors can enjoy games, creative workshops and interactive activities<\/strong>, accessible to children who speak different languages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Admission to the festival and all activities is FREE.<\/strong> Everyone attending the event should book a free ticket in advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEON COURTYARD<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Neon Courtyard will be at the heart of the festival. This is where you\u2019ll find the main stage, the organisations and partners area, multicultural food and plenty of activities to join.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3:00 PM\u201310:00 PM \u2013 DJ Lab-Tested<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the festival, DJ Lab-Tested<\/strong> will set the musical mood at the Neon Courtyard, taking you on an eclectic journey through some of the best sounds of Ukrainian and international music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEON COURTYARD STAGE<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> | 3:00 PM\u20138:00 PM<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

From the official opening to dance, choirs, poetry and stand-up, followed by evening concerts, the stage will be at the heart of this year\u2019s SKOVORODA FEST.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3:00\u20133:10 PM \u2013 Welcome and official festival opening<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ll open SKOVORODA FEST 2026 together and kick off seven hours of festival events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3:40\u20133:50 PM \u2013 People Dance Studio<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

The youngest dancers from People Dance Studio<\/strong> will take to the stage with a special dance performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4:00\u20135:00 PM \u2013 Kapusta Band<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Ukrainian children\u2019s choir Kapusta Band<\/strong> will take to the stage with a repertoire featuring Ukrainian folk songs and Polish pieces \u2014 music that brings languages, cultures and generations together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5:15\u20135:25 PM \u2013 GAS Theatre<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Poetry will leave the page and come to life on stage. Teatr GAS<\/strong> will present a performative poetry reading in Polish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5:45\u20136:15 PM \u2013 Spivanochky<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Ukrainian melodies will fill the stage with Spivanochky<\/strong>, a Wroc\u0142aw-based vocal ensemble of senior women operating under the To The Future Foundation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will be an encounter with music that carries memory, tradition and emotion while also building a sense of community here in Wroc\u0142aw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6:40\u20136:50 PM \u2013 Cykne cierchenia \u2013 Ma\u0142e gwiazdeczki<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Cykne cierchenia \u2013 Ma\u0142e gwiazdeczki<\/strong>, an intergenerational and intercultural group of women from Wroc\u0142aw\u2019s Broch\u00f3w neighbourhood, will perform Roma dances they have been learning under the guidance of Malwina Siwak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Malwina has many years of stage experience, having danced with Bare Bacht<\/strong> in Poland and with her family ensemble Romane Cierchenia<\/strong> in Scotland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7:00\u20137:30 PM \u2013 Guchno Comedy: stand-up<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Time for a generous dose of humour. Guchno Comedy<\/strong> will bring Ukrainian stand-up and live comedy to the festival stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7:30\u20137:50 PM \u2013 Viktoria Litvinchuk<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Viktoria Litvinchuk, PRIME Orchestra soloist and finalist on \u201cThe Voice of Ukraine\u201d and \u201cThe Voice Kids\u201d<\/strong>, will take to the stage with live covers of well-known songs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EVENING CONCERTS<\/strong><\/strong> | 8:00 PM\u201310:00 PM<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

As the festival day draws to a close, the Neon Courtyard will fill with music. Two hour-long concerts await.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8:00 PM\u20139:00 PM \u2013 SVAT<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

SVAT<\/strong> is a Ukrainian-Polish band fronted by Volodymyr Svat<\/strong>, a songwriter, composer and contestant on the 13th season of The Voice of Ukraine<\/strong> in 2023. He creates music in three languages, bringing together different cultures with his distinctive sound. At SKOVORODA FEST, the band will present its songs in a fresh live arrangement and have a musical surprise in store for the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9:00 PM\u201310:00 PM \u2013 Wymyrajuci Wydy \/ VMVD<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ll close the festival with a concert by Wymyrajuci Wydy \/ VMVD<\/strong>, a Ukrainian alternative band blending rock, funk and folk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their music combines personal stories, powerful sounds and experimentation that refuses to fit neatly into a single genre. A fitting finale to this year\u2019s Home Edition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ORGANISATIONS & PARTNERS ZONE<\/strong><\/strong> | 3:00 PM\u20138:00 PM<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Here you\u2019ll be able to meet organisations and initiatives active in Wroc\u0142aw, talk to their teams and take part in the activities they have prepared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Foreign Front \u2013 drone simulators<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Want to see what it\u2019s like to fly a drone? Foreign Front<\/strong> will bring drone simulators where you can test your skills while learning more about the organisation\u2019s work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fundacja PTACH \u2013 weaving camouflage nets together<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

At the Fundacja PTACH<\/strong> stand, you\u2019ll be able to learn more about the foundation\u2019s work and take part in weaving camouflage nets together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TAK MED \u2013 basic first aid<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Would you know how to respond in an emergency? TAK MED<\/strong> will demonstrate the most important first-aid principles in practice and explain what to do when the first few minutes matter most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IVANCOM \u2013 interactive activities for festivalgoers<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Festival sponsor IVANCOM<\/strong> will prepare quizzes, competitions and interactive activities for festivalgoers. Expect a virtual wheel of fortune, festival challenges, games and prizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3:00\u20137:00 PM \u2013 Micro-changes Workshop by IP Studio<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

During the festival, IP Studio<\/strong> will create an open space at the Neon Courtyard for creative and artistic activities exploring place, neighbourhood and relationships between people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone is welcome to join in, create together and leave their own mark.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

MULTICULTURAL FOOD AREA<\/strong> | 3:00 PM\u20138:00 PM<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

SKOVORODA FEST will also be a chance to discover flavours from different parts of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ll be able to try dishes inspired by Ukrainian, Polish, Uzbek and Syrian cuisine<\/strong>. Between a concert, workshop or another festival activity, take a delicious break and explore flavours from around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The municipal \u201cPij Kran\u00f3wk\u0119\u201d<\/strong> initiative will also join us, offering free drinking water at the festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CUKR | MAIN HALL<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Main Hall of the Ukrainian Centre of Culture and Development will host two events for those who want to do more than watch and would like to actively take part in the festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3:00 PM\u20134:00 PM \u2013 DAMA Laboratory Theatre and Dance Workshop<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

An hour of working with movement, voice, rhythm and space, ending with the creation of a short performance piece. The workshop will be led by Daria Arabad\u017ci and Mara K (Maria Romaniukha)<\/strong> in a bilingual Polish-Ukrainian format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No previous theatre or dance experience is required.

The stage, your own words and an audience that decides the outcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The poetry slam will be hosted by Illya Tandur, 2025 Polish Poetry Slam Champion<\/strong>. Participants will perform their own texts live, while the audience decides who advances to the next rounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each performance can last up to 3 minutes. The slam will be held in Polish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CUKR | WORKSHOP ROOM<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

All activities in the workshop room are organised by the Love and Fury Charitable Foundation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

3:00\u20137:30 PM \u2013 Book fair<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

More than 300 books in Ukrainian, Polish and English<\/strong> will be waiting for readers, ranging from literary fiction, fantasy and crime to romance, business titles and books for children and young adults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s a great opportunity to discover new authors and find something new to read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3:00 and 5:00 PM \u2013 Literary charades<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

A familiar game with a literary twist. Book titles, authors\u2019 names and literary clues will have to be acted out without words or drawn for others to guess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Creativity, quick thinking and teamwork are what count.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4:00 PM \u2013 Children\u2019s quiz about Ukrainian holidays and symbols<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Through play, children will have the chance to learn more about Ukraine, its culture, traditions and symbols.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6:00\u20137:00 PM \u2013 Book dating<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Can a book be the beginning of a new connection? During book dating<\/strong>, you\u2019ll be able to talk about your favourite titles, exchange recommendations and meet people who share similar literary interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RECEPCJA CLUB CAF<\/strong>E<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

During the festival, Recepcja will become a space filled with books and handmade creations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3:00 PM\u20137:30 PM \u2013 Handicraft Market<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Creators and makers will showcase their work across more than a dozen stalls. Expect handmade jewellery, decorations, original products and plenty of unique finds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ll find books from Book Caf\u00e9 and the Love and Fury Charitable Foundation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We invite residents of Wroc\u0142aw and the surrounding area, families with children, young people, adults and seniors, our neighbours from Ruska 46, people with migration experience and everyone interested in culture, music, art and connecting with others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ve designed the programme so you can drop by for your favourite concert or workshop, or spend the whole afternoon and evening with us, discovering different festival spaces along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event will be held in Polish, Ukrainian and English<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The festival is organised by Foundation Ukraine and the Ukrainian Culture and Development Centre.
