The wave of aid from Wroc\u0142aw has reached K\u0142odzko and G\u0142ucho\u0142azy. Foundation Ukraine united forces with local organizations and businesses to support communities affected by the flood in southwestern Poland caused by cyclone \u201cBorys.\u201d On September 24-25, Polish and Ukrainian volunteers worked side by side to restore normalcy in areas where the disaster had disrupted their sense of security.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the \u201cWave for Wave\u201d initiative organized on September 24, over 80 volunteers from Wroc\u0142aw headed to K\u0142odzko. The efforts were coordinated by the Impel Group, which provided specialized equipment, tools, and cleaning supplies. Foundation Ukraine, Ptach Foundation, Cr\u00e9dit Agricole Group, and ProCuro Foundation also joined the initiative. Polish and Ukrainian volunteers combined their efforts to clean streets and buildings, removing the destruction left by the flood. The scope of work was carefully planned in collaboration with crisis management teams and local authorities to best meet the needs of the disaster-affected residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The following day, on September 25, 16 volunteers from the Foundation Ukraine and Ptach Foundation, with the support of the Impel Group, Radio ZET, and PolBus, continued their mission in G\u0142ucho\u0142azy, working together to restore order and normalcy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Solidarity in action \u2013 the Ukrainian community joins in aid<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In both aid initiatives, nearly 100 volunteers from Poland and Ukraine participated in efforts aimed at restoring order in the flood-affected cities. Volunteers from non-governmental organizations supporting migrant communities actively engaged in helping those who needed it most during these difficult times. Many of them understand from personal experience how terrifying and challenging it is to lose everything you have and how difficult it can be to return to normal life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I am a refugee from Kakhovka, which is occupied by the Russian army, and I know what it means to lose everything after the dam was blown up. In Poland, I found shelter and kind hearts that helped me. This experience taught me how important support is in tough times. That’s why I immediately volunteered for the action, because I know how much it can help others,” says Tetiana, one of the volunteers involved in the \u201cWave for Wave\u201d initiative.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “great clean-up” actions following the flood have become a beautiful example of solidarity and cooperation. Responding to grassroots initiatives from employees and volunteers of non-governmental organizations, these actions united people from various backgrounds, joining forces to support affected communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
