As part of the project, at least 25 schools in Lower Silesia will benefit from the support of intercultural assistants who will work with 1200 refugee children, mainly in primary schools. The assistants will help the children learn the Polish language, assist in subject learning, and support social and emotional integration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Project objective:<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The project aims to provide comprehensive support for refugee children in Lower Silesian schools by employing intercultural assistants who will help with educational, emotional, and social integration. The activities planned in the project are designed to facilitate the adaptation of refugee children to Polish schools, improve their academic performance, and support teachers and parents in terms of integration and educational assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Main activities in the project:<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hiring 25 intercultural assistants who will work directly with refugee children in 25 schools in Lower Silesia.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supporting 1200 refugee children in learning Polish, as well as in educational and emotional integration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supporting at least 500 teachers in intercultural integration. Assistants will participate in educational classes, pedagogical meetings, training, and organize individual lessons for children.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assisting at least 500 refugee children&#8217;s parents with formalities and educational matters, facilitating their integration into the Polish education system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organizing school events aimed at integrating children and fostering intercultural understanding, enabling students from different cultures to better understand each other and build bonds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Regular supervision of the assistants\u2019 work by two coordinators, who will be responsible for organizing meetings, ensuring the quality of work, and reporting on project results.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Providing psychological support to the assistants by ensuring access to psychological help.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Expected results of the project:<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The activities undertaken within the project will have a tangible impact on the lives of refugee children, their families, and school communities. With the support of intercultural assistants, children will adapt more quickly to Polish schools, learn the Polish language, and integrate better with their peers. They will receive emotional support, which will help them overcome difficulties related to adaptation and feel like part of the school community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Teachers, working with assistants, will increase their awareness of the challenges faced by students from different cultures, which will allow them to better tailor their teaching methods.&nbsp; Additionally, organizing integration events in schools will help children from different nationalities build mutual respect and tolerance, contributing to the creation of a more integrated society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><em><em>The project &#8220;Empower, educate, integrate: support for refugee children through Intercultural Assistants in schools of Lower Silesia,&#8221; created in collaboration with Save the Children Polska and supported by the Hans Hermann Voss Foundation.<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns are-vertically-aligned-center
