{"id":18910,"date":"2025-10-20T07:14:14","date_gmt":"2025-10-20T05:14:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fundacjaukraina.eu\/projekty\/wzmacnianie-ochrony-i-dobrostanu-ukrainskich-dzieci-z-doswiadczeniem-uchodzstwa-oraz-ich-opiekunow-w-osrodkach-zbiorowego-zakwaterowania\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T13:14:58","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T12:14:58","slug":"strengthening-protection-and-wellbeing-of-ukrainian-refugee-children-and-caregivers-in-collective-accommodation-centers","status":"publish","type":"projekty","link":"https:\/\/fundacjaukraina.eu\/en\/project\/strengthening-protection-and-wellbeing-of-ukrainian-refugee-children-and-caregivers-in-collective-accommodation-centers\/","title":{"rendered":"Strengthening protection and wellbeing of Ukrainian refugee children and caregivers in collective accommodation centers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Project leader:<br>NOMADA \u2013 Association for the Integration of Multicultural Society<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Partners:<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong><strong>Foundation Ukraine<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong><strong>The Kaleidoscope of Cultures Foundation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The project <strong>\u201cStrengthening protection and wellbeing of Ukrainian refugee children and caregivers in collective accommodation centers\u201d<\/strong> is a joint initiative implemented in Lower Silesia in response to the needs of refugee families residing in collective accommodation centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Activities are carried out in cooperation with three organizations that combine their expertise to provide children and their caregivers with comprehensive support. <strong>Foundation Ukraine<\/strong> is responsible for developmental workshops,<strong> Nomada Association<\/strong> for educational and preventive activities, and<strong> the Kaleidoscope of Cultures Foundation<\/strong> for psychological support and specialized consultations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Project objective<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>By implementing this project, we aim to provide comprehensive and multidimensional support for children and their caregivers, thereby improving the quality of life of refugee families in collective accommodation centers through:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>protecting children from violence and neglect,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>promoting mental health and well-being,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>supporting caregivers in positive parenting and strengthening their independence,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>developing local child protection mechanisms through cooperation between institutions and social organizations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Main project activities<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The activities focus on protecting children from all forms of violence, abuse, exploitation, and neglect, as well as on supporting their psychosocial well-being. At the same time, the project aims to strengthen caregivers by developing their parenting skills and sense of agency, and by building local child protection systems through cross-sectoral cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Activities of Foundation Ukraine:<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>conducting 60 workshops for 200 children living in collective accommodation centers in Lower Silesia,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>using proven methods of working with children, such as <em>TeamUp, Heart,<\/em> and <em>Lego Serious Play<\/em>, which foster integration, socio-emotional development, and coping with stress.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Activities of Nomada Association:<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>workshops raising awareness of child protection for both caregivers and children,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>trainings for parents on positive parenting and violence prevention,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>sessions dedicated to gender-based violence (GBV), including case management, creating support pathways, and referring caregivers to relevant institutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Activities of the Kaleidoscope of Cultures Foundation:<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>individual and group psychological consultations for children, youth, and caregivers,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>regular psychological duty hours in the Grochowa and Sezam accommodation centers in Wroc\u0142aw,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>weekend visits by mobile teams of psychologists to residents of remote collective centers,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>referrals to specialists (psychiatrists, neurologists, speech therapists) when needed,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>supervision and professional support for MHPSS staff to ensure the quality and sustainability of activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Expected project results<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of the activities carried out under the project, refugee children will gain access to a safe space for emotional and educational support, which will contribute to improving their well-being and social integration. Caregivers will acquire knowledge and tools to apply positive parenting practices, strengthening their sense of agency and making it easier to cope with everyday challenges.
