It involves comprehensive actions addressed to entire school communities, including all children attending a given school regardless of their background, as well as teachers, parents and guardians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The programme responds to the challenges faced by schools operating in culturally and linguistically diverse environments, focusing on the everyday functioning of schools, peer relationships and the wellbeing of all members of the school community. Particular attention is given to students with a migration or refugee background, while at the same time strengthening cooperation, competencies and the sense of safety across the entire school community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Target group<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>\u201cFriendly School\u201d<\/strong> programme is addressed to schools and individuals who together shape everyday school life. The support covers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>schools attended by students from Ukraine who meet the Programme\u2019s eligibility criteria,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>children and young people with a migration or refugee background, including those from countries other than Ukraine,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Polish students attending the same schools,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>parents and guardians,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>teachers and education system staff.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Programme objective<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The main objective of the Programme is to support schools attended by students from Ukraine by creating conditions in which entire school communities feel safe, and children and young people can build positive peer relationships and develop their knowledge, skills and competencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Scope of support<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>\u201cFriendly School\u201d<\/strong> programme consists of three complementary support modules addressing the needs of students, parents and education system staff in schools operating in culturally diverse environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-light-blue-background-color has-background is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\" style=\"padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60)\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Module 1. Assistant support<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This module provides co-financing for the employment of intercultural assistants who support students who are not Polish citizens, in particular children and young people from Ukraine, including students of Roma origin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>The interculture assistant:<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>identifies stages of culture shock as well as adaptation and integration barriers,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>supports students in adapting to the Polish education system,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>undertakes activities fostering integration within the school environment,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>supports the equalisation of students\u2019 educational opportunities within the wider school community.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-light-blue-background-color has-background is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\" style=\"padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60)\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Module 2. School community wellbeing<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim of this module is to improve the wellbeing of entire school communities in schools attended by students from Ukraine. Activities are implemented through a variety of support measures addressed to students, parents and education system staff, with particular emphasis on mental health prevention and strengthening psychological and pedagogical support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>The module includes:<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>support for students<\/strong> \u2013 specialist consultations, professional psychological support and career guidance,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>support for parents and guardians of students with a migration or refugee background<\/strong> \u2013 assistance in addressing educational and upbringing challenges and developing parenting competencies,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>support for education system staff<\/strong> \u2013 assistance in dealing with educational, teaching and caregiving challenges.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-light-blue-background-color has-background is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\" style=\"padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60)\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Module 3. Professional development of education system staff<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This module focuses on strengthening the professional competencies of education system staff in schools attended by students from Ukraine. Its aim is the effective integration of students with a migration or refugee background, ensuring equal educational opportunities and building an open and supportive school environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Support is delivered, among others, through training for education system staff in the following areas:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>educational support related to migration or refugee experience,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>working with classes and student groups attended by students with a migration or refugee background,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>inclusive and integration-oriented activities,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>individual support for students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Expected project outcomes<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The implementation of the \u201cFriendly School\u201d project will contribute to <strong>strengthening wellbeing, the sense of safety and integration of entire school communities<\/strong> operating in culturally diverse environments. Schools will receive support tailored to their individual needs, potential and the specific nature of working with students with a migration or refugee background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>School students<\/strong>, particularly those with migration experience, will receive effective adaptation-related and psychological-pedagogical support, leading to better functioning in the school environment, the development of social competencies and the equalisation of educational opportunities. Increased integration within class groups will reduce stress levels among new students and create a more open and friendly environment conducive to learning and cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Thanks to activities addressed to parents<\/strong>, communication barriers between schools and families will be reduced, and strengthened cooperation will translate into coherent and stable support for students as well as a greater sense of safety for children and young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Teaching staff and intercultural assistants will enhance their competencies<\/strong> in working with diversity and gain a safe space to discuss professional challenges and develop practical solutions. Regular supervision and training will increase staff psychological resilience, improve coordination within school teams and reduce the risk of burnout, strengthening the sustainability of project outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Total value of support:<\/strong> PLN 499,903,491.80<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Contribution of European funds:<\/strong> PLN 412,513,516.80<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Implementation budget in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship:<\/strong> PLN 11,025,950<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Our activities within the project<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Foundation Ukraine implements activities under <strong>Module 2: \u201cSchool Community Wellbeing\u201d<\/strong> of the <strong>\u201cFriendly School\u201d<\/strong> programme in partnership with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Dom Pokoju Foundation<\/strong> \u2013<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dompokoju.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">https:\/\/www.dompokoju.org\/<\/a>,&nbsp; 5\/1 W\u0142. \u0141okietka St., 50-243 Wroc\u0142aw,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Centre for Civic Education Foundation<\/strong> \u2013<a href=\"https:\/\/ceo.org.pl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">https:\/\/ceo.org.pl\/<\/a>, 10 Noakowskiego St., 00-666 Warsaw.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The activities provide comprehensive support to approximately <strong>200 schools in Lower Silesia <\/strong>in the area of equalising educational opportunities, with particular attention to the needs of students from Ukraine. At the same time, the project is addressed to entire school communities \u2013 students, parents and education system staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>How do we work with schools?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Each school participating in the project undergoes a needs assessment process, allowing us to understand its specific context, challenges and resources. In <strong>160 schools, <\/strong>this assessment is in-depth and carried out by research teams. On this basis, schools receive tailored support packages that respond to their actual needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Support is provided both on-site and online, with full language accessibility in Polish and Ukrainian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Scope of support<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-essential-blocks-row alignfull  root-eb-row-dthgm\"><div class=\"eb-parent-wrapper eb-parent-eb-row-dthgm \"><div class=\"eb-row-root-container eb-row-dthgm\" data-id=\"eb-row-dthgm\"><div class=\"eb-row-wrapper\"><div class=\"eb-row-inner\">\n<div Ukrainian \u2013 700 hours of support for 200 individuals,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>specialist consultations (psychological, psychiatric, psychotherapeutic, speech therapy) \u2013 1,400 hours,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>career guidance and support in planning educational and professional pathways \u2013 700 hours of individual consultations and 140 group meetings,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>classroom workshops in the field of MHPSS (Mental Health and Psychosocial Support) \u2013 630 workshops.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-essential-blocks-column assistants) \u2013 700 hours,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Polish language classes for parents with a migration or refugee background \u2013 980
