Information and Advisory Point in Wrocław__

Project objective

The objective of the project is to support the social and professional integration of foreigners living in Wrocław by providing them with continuous, free access to reliable information and professional advisory services. The project responds to the needs of new residents of the city by helping them effectively navigate the Polish legal, administrative, and social systems, as well as everyday life.

Planned activities

As part of the project, an Information and Advisory Point will operate at the headquarters of Foundation Ukraine, located at 46A Ruska Street ((Lower Silesian Center of Polish Culturej in Wrocław). The Point will be open from Monday to Saturday, 9:00–17:00 (until 18:00 on Mondays).

Support will be provided through general consultations and specialised legal consultations.

General consultations

General consultations include free information and advisory support for foreigners, provided both in person and remotely. Consultations are available in Ukrainian, Polish, English, and Russian. Support may also be provided in other languages (including sign language) after prior contact with the Point.

Consultation topics include:

  • legalisation of stay – completing applications, preparing documents, and administrative procedures;
  • labour market – legal employment, work permits, and employee rights;
  • insurance and benefits – healthcare access and the social security system;
  • housing – renting apartments, contracts, and tenants’ rights;
  • education – enrolment in schools and kindergartens, integration of children into the education system;
  • integration and everyday matters – contacts with public institutions, access to public services, and support organisations.

Consultations are provided both in person and remotely (by phone and email).

Legal consultations

Legal consultations are provided by qualified lawyers and require prior appointment. They concern matters requiring specialised knowledge in labour law, family law, civil law, and migration law.

During consultations, support may be provided in the following areas:

Labour law

Support for individuals who have questions regarding, among others:

  • employment contracts and other forms of employment;
  • unpaid wages or overtime;
  • termination of employment and its compliance with labour law;
  • workplace bullying, discrimination, or violations of occupational health and safety regulations;
  • leave, employee benefits, and matters related to the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS).

Family law

  • divorce, alimony, and child custody;
  • domestic violence;
  • sexual offences (with full confidentiality).

Civil law

  • division of property;
  • inheritance matters;
  • other civil law issues.

Migration law

  • legalisation of stay and work in Poland;
  • procedures related to residence permits;
  • rights and obligations of foreigners in Poland;
  • support in contacts with public institutions.

Project impact

The implementation of the project will contribute to improving the quality of life of migrants and refugees in Wrocław, increasing their sense of safety and independence. Thanks to access to reliable information, participants will better understand their rights and responsibilities, reducing the risk of illegal employment, social exclusion, and exploitation.

The project also strengthens social integration processes, encourages foreigners to actively participate in the life of the city, and builds trust in public institutions and non-governmental organisations. In the long term, the activities of the Information Point support social cohesion and harmonious coexistence among the residents of Wrocław, regardless of their origin.

How to access support

General consultations do not require prior registration – you can visit during the opening hours of the Point.
Legal consultations require prior appointment.

Support is provided at the Information and Advisory Point, operating at the headquarters of Foundation Ukraine, located at 46A Ruska Street in Wrocław (Lower Silesian Center of Polish Culture – LSCPC).
