Strengthening іntercultural сompetencies 2026 – IntegrON: workshops and a debate on integration in a multicultural school environment__

Implementation period: 23 March 2026 – 31 December 2026

The IntegrON project aims to strengthen the intercultural competencies of professionals working with children and young people in multicultural educational settings in Wrocław. The project is addressed to psychological and pedagogical staff, intercultural assistants, educators, caregivers, and community leaders supporting the integration of children and young people.

The main objective of the project will be achieved through the following activities:

  • Organising a series of 7 interactive workshops aimed at strengthening the intercultural competencies of professionals working with children and young people in multicultural environments. The workshops will cover topics such as conflict prevention, counteracting peer violence (bullying) and hate speech, strengthening mental resilience, building positive peer relationships, fostering a sense of belonging, and supporting the integration of children and youth;
  • Promoting the publication “Support Guide”, which provides key information on available support services, activities, and development opportunities for young residents of Wrocław.

Project outcomes:

  • The project will contribute to strengthening the intercultural competencies of professionals working with children and young people and to improving the quality of integration activities implemented in schools and other educational institutions.
  • Participants will gain practical skills in responding to conflicts, preventing bullying and hate speech, strengthening students’ mental resilience, and creating safe, open, and inclusive educational environments. They will also increase their readiness to take effective action in situations requiring professional support.
  • The project will promote good practices in intercultural education, strengthen attitudes of dialogue, openness, and mutual respect within school communities, and raise awareness of local support services available to children, young people, and their caregivers.
  • Indirect beneficiaries of the project will include children and young people, particularly those with a migration background, who will benefit from safer, more supportive, and more inclusive educational environments.
  • The dissemination of the “Support Guide” will increase young residents’ awareness of available support services, activities, and personal development opportunities, making it easier for them to access local services and community initiatives.

The project “Strengthening intercultural competencies 2026 – IntegrON: workshops and a debate on integration in a multicultural school environment” is co-founded by the Municipality of Wrocław.
