Foundation Ukraine carries out social, educational, integration, cultural, support and development activities in which children and young people may take part.
The safety of children and young people is our priority. Foundation Ukraine has adopted Standards for the Protection of Minors. Their purpose is to protect children and young people from harm, violence, abuse, discrimination, neglect and any other behaviour that violates their dignity, safety, privacy or rights.
The Standards are linked to the documents and procedures in force at Foundation Ukraine, in particular the Child Protection Policy, the Safeguarding Policy, the PSEA Policy, the Code of Ethics and Conduct, the Procedure for Reporting Concerns and Abuse, and the Instruction on Reporting Concerns and Violations.
The Standards for the Protection of Minors at Foundation Ukraine set out, in particular:
- the rules for safe interactions between the Foundation’s staff and minors;
- the rules for safe interactions between minors participating in the Foundation’s activities;
- the rules for using the internet, electronic devices and media;
- the rules for protecting the image, privacy and personal data of minors;
- the rules for verifying and preparing people who work with minors;
- the procedure for reporting violations and concerning situations;
- the procedure for responding to suspected harm of a minor;
- the rules for documenting reports and interventions;
- the people and roles responsible for implementing the Standards;
- the rules for making the Standards available, monitoring them and updating them.
Shortened version for children and young people
We have prepared a shortened version of the Standards for the Protection of Minors for children and young people, written in simple and understandable language.
The shortened version includes the most important information about:
- the rights of a child or young person taking part in the Foundation’s activities;
- what adults working with children and young people are not allowed to do;
- what other participants are not allowed to do;
- what personal boundaries are and why everyone has the right to say “no”;
- where to report a problem or a concerning situation;
- what to do if someone is being harmed;
- what to do in an emergency or a situation of immediate danger.

Rules for safe interactions between participants
A separate resource for children and young people is the “Rules for safe interactions between participants”.
This document focuses mainly on relationships between participants in the Foundation’s activities. It sets out rules on mutual respect, personal boundaries, the prohibition of violence, conflict resolution, responding to harm and reporting problems.
The Rules for safe interactions between participants are available on the Foundation’s website and in places where the Foundation carries out activities involving children and young people, in particular as a poster, printed material or QR code.
How to report a violation or a concerning situation?
If you are a child, young person, parent, legal guardian, staff member, collaborator, volunteer or any other person and you want to report a concerning situation, you can use one of the following channels:

the person conducting the class, or the coordinator of the activity
Reports may be submitted anonymously.
You do not need to be certain that a violation has occurred. It is enough that a situation concerns you.
A person who submits a report must not be punished, mocked, discriminated against or treated badly because they made a report.
In the event of an immediate threat to life, health or safety, call the emergency number 112 immediately.
Availability of information
The Standards for the Protection of Minors at Foundation Ukraine are available on the Foundation’s website.
Information about the Standards, reporting channels and safety rules is also made available in places where the Foundation carries out activities involving minors.
In places where classes, workshops or other activities involving children and young people are held, the Foundation provides materials prepared for minors, in particular the shortened version of the Standards and the Rules for safe interactions between participants.
