Welcome to the 2025/2027 edition of the European Solidarity Corps project at the Foundation Ukraine!
The European Solidarity Corps is one of the flagship initiatives of the Erasmus+ programme, supported by the European Commission. The Ukraine Foundation has been actively participating in this programme for many years, offering young people from across Europe the opportunity to gain experience in socio-cultural work, develop soft skills, and engage in meaningful intercultural dialogue.
In previous editions, we had the pleasure of working with 18 inspiring volunteers from Ukraine, Lithuania, Czechia, Sakartvelo, Turkey, Spain, and France. In this year’s edition, we are delighted to welcome five new volunteers who support the activities of our Ukrainian Center Culture and Development (CUKR), as well as initiatives addressed to migrants, refugees, and the local community of Wrocław. Each of them brings passion, energy, and a unique perspective to the Foundation.
Project objective
The goal of the European Solidarity Corps program is to support young people aged 18–30 in their personal and professional development through participation in international volunteering.
The project offers participants the opportunity to:
- gain hands-on experience working in NGOs,
- develop communication, organisational, and intercultural skills,
- work in an international team,
- co-create cultural and integration events,
- engage in initiatives supporting migrants and refugees.
Participation in the project gives young people a unique opportunity to discover the world of non-governmental organisations, work with the local community, and build valuable professional and social connections.
Key activities within the project
In the 2025/2027 edition, we implement activities including:
- involvement of 5 volunteers from Italy, Portugal, and Ukraine,
- exchange of experience and good practices between the Foundation’s team and volunteers,
- training sessions preparing volunteers for work in the NGO sector,
- co-organisation of adaptation, educational, and integration events,
- support of socio-cultural activities at CUKR,
- development of initiatives rooted in solidarity and mutual understanding.
Expected Results
- development of practical competencies and strengthening the professional potential of volunteers,
- support for migrant and refugee communities through regular integration activities,
- broadening the knowledge and intercultural competences of the Foundation’s team,
- building lasting partnerships and connections at both local and international levels,
- implementation of social initiatives responding to the needs of local communities.
Meet the Volunteers of the 2025/2027 Edition!
Each of them has arrived in Wrocław with a different story, motivation, and set of aspirations. What unites them is the desire to contribute to something meaningful — for themselves, for others, and for the world around them.

Nora Jamhour (Italy – Bergamo)
Fun fact: Singing is her way of life — she does it wholeheartedly. What she can’t stand are broken rules and loud phone calls on public transport.
Project goal: to grow in the field of social work and discover more about herself through working with people.
At the Foundation: she supports integration activities at CUKR, assists in working with migrants, and helps create a welcoming space for newcomers to Wrocław.

João Pedro Pombo de Freitas (Portugal – Lisbon/Covilhã)
Fun fact: João is a devoted fan of independent and arthouse cinema. As a child, he dreamed of becoming a film director, and he still believes in the power of film to spark empathy and tell human stories. He prefers Cannes-winning indie productions over loud blockbusters. And despite being Portuguese, seafood is a firm “no” for him.
Project goal: to engage in solidarity-driven initiatives and support human rights — a dream that has stayed with him since the Euromaidan.
At the Foundation: he contributes to educational projects and initiatives for refugees, co-creates actions that raise social awareness, and moderates the English Speaking Club, adding his cinematic perspective to group dialogues.

Yevhen Stoikiv (Ukraine – Buchach)
Fun fact: Yevhen can spend hours observing birds — a level of focus that translates directly into his camera work. He has a remarkable eye for composition, turning everyday moments into documentary-like shots. His videos and photos have quickly become a recognisable feature of our social media.
Project goal: to support as many people as possible, especially children and young people navigating the adaptation process.
At the Foundation: he documents events and initiatives, creates photo and video content, and supports educational and integration activities for CUKR participants.

Sofiia Danylchenko (Ukraine – Poltava)
Fun fact: She loves the mountains, long hikes, and being close to nature. But there is one thing she absolutely can’t stand — olives.
Project goal: to support people beginning their new lives in Poland and help them navigate an unfamiliar environment.
At the Foundation: she assists in adaptation and integration activities and helps organise CUKR events — from concerts to stand-up evenings.

Sofia Prykhodko (Ukraine – Sumy)
Fun fact: Dance gives her rhythm, and web design gives her creative freedom — Sofia easily combines both worlds.
Project goal: to support Ukraine through social and creative initiatives, wherever she is.
At the Foundation: she brings fresh energy to communication and animation activities, co-creates CUKR’s social media — both visually and as an SMM specialist — and contributes to youth-oriented projects.
