#SAVEUKRAINE REPORT

The SAVE UKRAINE campaign is a set of actions and mechanisms aimed at assisting Ukraine, its residents, and refugees forced to flee to Lower Silesia due to the war.

Today, we want to share with you the achievements of our actions in March as part of the campaign.

Volunteer Coordination

Foundation Ukraine has coordinated the efforts of 3000 volunteers engaged in translation, resettlement assistance for refugees, psychological aid, counseling, childcare, and support in humanitarian warehousing. Their commitment and support are invaluable as we all work towards the common goal of Ukraine’s victory.

Foundation Ukraine has been designated by the Lower Silesia Voivode to coordinate activities at the Wroclaw Main Railway Station – Wrocław PKP. In collaboration with the Voivode of Lower Silesia, support for volunteers has been ensured at information-reception points at the Wroclaw Main Railway Station and in the dormitories for refugees.

Informational Support – over 2900 consultations

Providing guidance for migrants regarding legalization and adaptation has always been one of Foundation Ukraine’s key areas of activity. Following the russian invasion of Ukraine, our Institute of Migrant Rights immediately adjusted its focus to accommodate its service for refugees and hugely increased visitor numbers. We are thankful to the volunteers who assisted in answering phones and conducting consultations for refugees! In March, the employees of the Institute of Migrant Rights’ Information Point  provided informational support to over 2900 individuals, uncluding:

  • 252 consultations via email
  • 1608 phone consultations
  • 680 in-person consultations
  • 368 consultations via media platforms

Humanitarian Aid

over 800 pallets

Collection and dispatch of humanitarian aid

From early February to the end of March, we gathered and sent over 800 pallets of humanitarian aid consisting of food, hygiene products, clothing, medicines, and tactical equipment.

33 vehicles carrying humanitarian aid were dispatched to Lviv, Uzhhorod, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Rivne, Sumy, Kovel, Khmelnytskyi, Berdychiv, Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, Vinnytsia, Teplodar, Chernihiv, Boyarka, Hoshcha, Dnipro, Zazymya, Kulykivka, and Browary.

As part of the initiative, we also provided humanitarian aid for the reception point at Wrocław Main Railway Station – PKP Wrocław Główny. Items such as body balms, shaving kits, shampoos, toothbrushes, soaps, personal hygiene products, wet wipes, and pet bowls were purchased for a total of 19,064.42 PLN.

Additionally, thanks to a 100,000 euro grant for refugees in Lower Silesia from the Federal State of Saxony, our team has begun procuring essential items to equip refugee housing facilities in Świdnica, Oława, Wałbrzych, and Jelcz-Laskowice.

Together, we’ve achieved many positive outcomes, but we cannot slow down – the war in Ukraine requires long-term strategic support from each of us! Spread the word, maintain enthusiasm in volunteer activities, regularly contribute donations – it’s better to help with a smaller amount each month than exhaust our ability by contributing a large sum at the onset of the war.

Together we are stronger – Ukraine will win!
