SKOVORODA FEST 2026 | HOME EDITION
SKOVORODA FEST is an annual open community festival that has been bringing Wrocław residents together around multiculturalism, solidarity and dialogue since 2020. It is inspired by the values of Hryhorii Skovoroda: freedom, mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and community.
Held to mark Ukraine’s Independence Day, the festival presents contemporary Ukrainian culture as an important part of multicultural Wrocław.
This year, we’re meeting at Ruska 46
This year’s Home Edition will take place at CUKR and the Neon Courtyard, a space that is home to Fundacja Ukraina as well as other organisations and neighbourhood initiatives. We want to show you this place from the inside, introduce you to the people who make it what it is and invite you to celebrate together.
On 22 August, we’ll open the doors to our home wider than usual and fill it with music, art, workshops, books, great food and plenty of opportunities to meet. SKOVORODA FEST is also a space for families. Our youngest visitors can enjoy games, creative workshops and interactive activities, accessible to children who speak different languages.
Admission to the festival and all activities is FREE. Everyone attending the event should book a free ticket in advance.
FESTIVAL PROGRAM
NEON COURTYARD
The Neon Courtyard will be at the heart of the festival. This is where you’ll find the main stage, the organisations and partners area, multicultural food and plenty of activities to join.
3:00 PM–10:00 PM – DJ Lab-Tested
Throughout the festival, DJ Lab-Tested will set the musical mood at the Neon Courtyard, taking you on an eclectic journey through some of the best sounds of Ukrainian and international music.
NEON COURTYARD STAGE | 3:00 PM–8:00 PM
From the official opening to dance, choirs, poetry and stand-up, followed by evening concerts, the stage will be at the heart of this year’s SKOVORODA FEST.
3:00–3:10 PM – Welcome and official festival opening
We’ll open SKOVORODA FEST 2026 together and kick off seven hours of festival events.
3:40–3:50 PM – People Dance Studio
The youngest dancers from People Dance Studio will take to the stage with a special dance performance.
4:00–5:00 PM – Kapusta Band
Ukrainian children’s choir Kapusta Band will take to the stage with a repertoire featuring Ukrainian folk songs and Polish pieces — music that brings languages, cultures and generations together.
5:15–5:25 PM – GAS Theatre
Poetry will leave the page and come to life on stage. Teatr GAS will present a performative poetry reading in Polish.
5:45–6:15 PM – Spivanochky
Ukrainian melodies will fill the stage with Spivanochky, a Wrocław-based vocal ensemble of senior women operating under the To The Future Foundation.
It will be an encounter with music that carries memory, tradition and emotion while also building a sense of community here in Wrocław.
6:40–6:50 PM – Cykne cierchenia – Małe gwiazdeczki
Cykne cierchenia – Małe gwiazdeczki, an intergenerational and intercultural group of women from Wrocław’s Brochów neighbourhood, will perform Roma dances they have been learning under the guidance of Malwina Siwak.
Malwina has many years of stage experience, having danced with Bare Bacht in Poland and with her family ensemble Romane Cierchenia in Scotland.
7:00–7:30 PM – Guchno Comedy: stand-up
Time for a generous dose of humour. Guchno Comedy will bring Ukrainian stand-up and live comedy to the festival stage.
7:30–7:50 PM – Viktoria Litvinchuk
Viktoria Litvinchuk, PRIME Orchestra soloist and finalist on “The Voice of Ukraine” and “The Voice Kids”, will take to the stage with live covers of well-known songs.
EVENING CONCERTS | 8:00 PM–10:00 PM
As the festival day draws to a close, the Neon Courtyard will fill with music. Two hour-long concerts await.
8:00 PM–9:00 PM – SVAT
SVAT is a Ukrainian-Polish band fronted by Volodymyr Svat, a songwriter, composer and contestant on the 13th season of The Voice of Ukraine in 2023. He creates music in three languages, bringing together different cultures with his distinctive sound. At SKOVORODA FEST, the band will present its songs in a fresh live arrangement and have a musical surprise in store for the audience.
9:00 PM–10:00 PM – Wymyrajuci Wydy / VMVD
We’ll close the festival with a concert by Wymyrajuci Wydy / VMVD, a Ukrainian alternative band blending rock, funk and folk.
Their music combines personal stories, powerful sounds and experimentation that refuses to fit neatly into a single genre. A fitting finale to this year’s Home Edition.
ORGANISATIONS & PARTNERS ZONE | 3:00 PM–8:00 PM
Here you’ll be able to meet organisations and initiatives active in Wrocław, talk to their teams and take part in the activities they have prepared.
Foreign Front – drone simulators
Want to see what it’s like to fly a drone? Foreign Front will bring drone simulators where you can test your skills while learning more about the organisation’s work.
Fundacja PTACH – weaving camouflage nets together
At the Fundacja PTACH stand, you’ll be able to learn more about the foundation’s work and take part in weaving camouflage nets together.
TAK MED – basic first aid
Would you know how to respond in an emergency? TAK MED will demonstrate the most important first-aid principles in practice and explain what to do when the first few minutes matter most.
IVANCOM – interactive activities for festivalgoers
Festival sponsor IVANCOM will prepare quizzes, competitions and interactive activities for festivalgoers. Expect a virtual wheel of fortune, festival challenges, games and prizes.
3:00–7:00 PM – Micro-changes Workshop by IP Studio
During the festival, IP Studio will create an open space at the Neon Courtyard for creative and artistic activities exploring place, neighbourhood and relationships between people.
Everyone is welcome to join in, create together and leave their own mark.
MULTICULTURAL FOOD AREA | 3:00 PM–8:00 PM
SKOVORODA FEST will also be a chance to discover flavours from different parts of the world.
You’ll be able to try dishes inspired by Ukrainian, Polish, Uzbek and Syrian cuisine. Between a concert, workshop or another festival activity, take a delicious break and explore flavours from around the world.
The municipal “Pij Kranówkę” initiative will also join us, offering free drinking water at the festival.
CUKR | MAIN HALL
The Main Hall of the Ukrainian Centre of Culture and Development will host two events for those who want to do more than watch and would like to actively take part in the festival.
3:00 PM–4:00 PM – DAMA Laboratory Theatre and Dance Workshop
An hour of working with movement, voice, rhythm and space, ending with the creation of a short performance piece. The workshop will be led by Daria Arabadżi and Mara K (Maria Romaniukha) in a bilingual Polish-Ukrainian format.
No previous theatre or dance experience is required.
Ages 16+ | max. 30 participants | free admission
5:00 PM–7:00 PM – Poetry Slam
The stage, your own words and an audience that decides the outcome.
The poetry slam will be hosted by Illya Tandur, 2025 Polish Poetry Slam Champion. Participants will perform their own texts live, while the audience decides who advances to the next rounds.
Each performance can last up to 3 minutes. The slam will be held in Polish.
CUKR | WORKSHOP ROOM
All activities in the workshop room are organised by the Love and Fury Charitable Foundation.
3:00–7:30 PM – Book fair
More than 300 books in Ukrainian, Polish and English will be waiting for readers, ranging from literary fiction, fantasy and crime to romance, business titles and books for children and young adults.
It’s a great opportunity to discover new authors and find something new to read.
3:00 and 5:00 PM – Literary charades
A familiar game with a literary twist. Book titles, authors’ names and literary clues will have to be acted out without words or drawn for others to guess.
Creativity, quick thinking and teamwork are what count.
4:00 PM – Children’s quiz about Ukrainian holidays and symbols
Through play, children will have the chance to learn more about Ukraine, its culture, traditions and symbols.
6:00–7:00 PM – Book dating
Can a book be the beginning of a new connection? During book dating, you’ll be able to talk about your favourite titles, exchange recommendations and meet people who share similar literary interests.
RECEPCJA CLUB CAFE
During the festival, Recepcja will become a space filled with books and handmade creations.
3:00 PM–7:30 PM – Handicraft Market
Creators and makers will showcase their work across more than a dozen stalls. Expect handmade jewellery, decorations, original products and plenty of unique finds.
3:00 PM–7:30 PM – Book fair
You’ll find books from Book Café and the Love and Fury Charitable Foundation.
WHO IS SKOVORODA FEST FOR?
Everyone!
We invite residents of Wrocław and the surrounding area, families with children, young people, adults and seniors, our neighbours from Ruska 46, people with migration experience and everyone interested in culture, music, art and connecting with others.
We’ve designed the programme so you can drop by for your favourite concert or workshop, or spend the whole afternoon and evening with us, discovering different festival spaces along the way.
The event will be held in Polish, Ukrainian and English.
