Coordination of Volunteers
Since the beginning of the war, we have managed to create a database of 7000 potential volunteers. Around 1600 of them engaged in activities with the Foundation Ukraine during April and May. Our volunteers offered support in translations, aiding refugee resettlement, providing psychological assistance, counseling, childcare during various integration events, assistance in humanitarian warehouses, and at Migrant Job Fairs. A significant focus of volunteer activity in April was the blockade of trucks at the Polish-Belarusian border carrying goods from the EU to Russia and Belarus. We extend our gratitude to everyone for their dedicated time, help, and support 💙💛

Equipping the Refugee Centers
Thanks to a grant of 100,000 euros for refugees in Lower Silesia from the State of Saxony, our team provided all necessary items for setting up reception centers in Świdnica, Oława, Wałbrzych, and Jelcz-Laskowice.
In total, we purchased over 200 beds with mattresses and bedding sets, approximately 90 wardrobes, 22 refrigerators, and many other items – from large furniture to small household appliances and kitchen accessories.
This secured comfortable living conditions for 440 people residing in reception centers, including:
✔️190 refugees in Świdnica;
✔️100 refugees in Oława;
✔️ 50 refugees in Wałbrzych;
✔️100 refugees in Jelcz-Laskowice.
📌 In April, we also spent over 10,000 PLN to support a music club in Wrocław, catering to refugee children and employing individuals from Ukraine. We purchased necessary items for music classes and children’s comfort.
📌 The remaining funds will be allocated to support a refugee center in Wrocław (Gajowice district). We’ll share the outcomes of this assistance with you in the next report 🤗
📚 Additionally, in May, as part of the SAVE UKRAINE campaign, a Polish language course free of charge was organized for 60 refugees who have already started learning at the University of Wrocław’s lecture halls.We also remind you of the ongoing Rotary Kids Care project aimed at treating Ukrainian children with chronic illnesses, details of which can be found here: https://fundacjaukraina.eu/rotary-kids-care/.
👉 Together, we’ve survived another month of the war! Certainly, we’re holding the humanitarian front and every day, through collective effort, we’re getting closer to victory. But we cannot slow down – the war in Ukraine requires consistent support from each of us!
Share this information, maintain enthusiasm in volunteer actions, regularly donate – it’s better to help every month with a smaller amount than to exhaust the ability to help at the beginning of the war 🙌
