#SAVEUKRAINE RAPORT

Summary of the Activities of the Foundation Ukraine for the third quarter of 2024

Together, we overcome challenges, and our achievements are proof that solidarity and commitment bring fruitful results. See what we managed to accomplish in the third quarter of 2024 (July 1, 2024 – September 30, 2024). Of course, this is thanks to the dedication of our employees, volunteers, and donors, to whom we are very grateful.

📌 Providing Informational Support: Actions of The Institute of Migrant Rights coordinated by Foundation Ukraine

📌 Developing Socially: Integration, Adaptation, Educational, and Cultural Activities within the Projects of the Foundation Ukraine at the Ukrainian Center of Culture and Development and Partner Facilities

  • The largest event of this season was the multicultural SKOVORODA FEST, which attracted over 2,000 participants—our annual integration festival celebrating Ukraine’s Independence Day.

👉 During the summer fun, we did not forget about education. As part of the Refugee Children Support Ecosystem project funded by Save The Children, we organized:

Refugee Children Support Ecosystem

Summer of Equal Opportunities

👉 As part of the “Summer of Equal Opportunities” project, funded by POP Fund, we provided comprehensive support to children and youth with refugee experience from Wałbrzych and Jelenia Góra, especially those residing in collective accommodation centers. Thanks to our actions:

  • 35 children participated in psychosocial development activities conducted by intercultural assistants, helping them integrate with the local community.
  •  30 children aged 7-14 attended our Polish language courses for 80 hours, which significantly improved their language skills, supporting their adaptation to Polish schools and interaction with peers.
  • 75 children from 60 families received shopping vouchers worth 600 PLN for school materials, clothing, and other necessary educational equipment.
  • Thanks to the contributions of the Foundation Ukraine, 11 children received Chromebooks, enabling them to better utilize educational opportunities, especially for online lessons.

📌 Charitable Actions: Helping People in Crisis

👉As part of the “SAVE UKRAINE” charity campaign, we raised 72,836.65 PLN, which was used for humanitarian aid to those affected by Russian aggression. Most of the funds were allocated to delivering over 800 “HELP UA PACKAGE” food parcels to Izium, Lyman, Kherson, and the Chernihiv region.

👉 On September 24-25, in the face of floods, we joined forces with local organizations to support communities affected by the disaster in southwestern Poland. Over 80 volunteers from Wrocław, including volunteers from Ukraine, participated in the “Wave for Wave” action. Our efforts focused on cleaning up the destruction to help residents of Kłodzko and Głuchołazy return to normalcy.

👉 We also provided material support for flood victims in Lądek-Zdrój, Jelenia Góra, and Zagórze Śląskie, including medicines, cleaning supplies, drinking water, blankets, pillows, baby diapers, and food for children. The total value of the aid amounted to over 18,000 PLN.

📌 Supporting Education and Stabilizing the Education System in Poland

In recent months, we actively worked for migrants and intercultural assistants — altogether, we held over 25 meetings, including:

👉 Launching working on a strategy for implementing Integration Centers in Wrocław, Wałbrzych, Jelenia Góra and Legnica in partnership with the local government of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship and municipalities.

👉 Publishing a report on the location of assistance for foreigners.

👉 Taking part in many meetings regarding the Polish Migration Strategy and in the preparation of recommendations and positions for the approved document.

👉 We had the opportunity to participate in a meeting of the migration and multicultural society industry group, where our Vice President Igor Lisin was nominated to the Equal Treatment Council under the President of Wrocław, Jacek Sutryk.

👉 We initiated the creation of Wrocław Standards for Intercultural Assistants, which were presented at the Forum of Intercultural Assistants in October. We also conducted research on the employment model for intercultural assistants, which we will soon publish on our website.

👉 Vice President of the Foundation Ukraine, Igor Lisin, had the pleasure of presenting the activities of the Foundation and participating in a discussion on the location of assistance during a meeting with Community World Service Asia in Pakistan

As seen, thanks to the commitment and support of many people, we managed to achieve remarkable results in the past quarter. Every success brings us closer to a more integrated, open, and supportive community.
