Skovoroda Fest 2024: Celebration of Diversity and Integration in Czasoprzestrzeń
Skovoroda Fest is an annual, open integration festival organized by the Foundation Ukraine since 2020. Its aim is to promote solidarity and cultural diversity, building unity within Wrocław’s multicultural community. The festival is named after Hryhorii Skovoroda, a prominent Ukrainian poet, humanist, and philosopher who has inspired generations of Ukrainians with his values for centuries.
Skovoroda Fest not only pays tribute to his legacy but also brings Wrocław’s residents together through joint celebrations. The values promoted by Skovoroda, such as peace, freedom of spirit, progress, and the pricelessness of the homeland, are now particularly important in the context of the current challenges faced by Ukraine and the world. The festival is a tribute to this unwavering stance, being a living testament to the wisdom and patriotism of Skovoroda, which continues to inspire contemporary generations.
This year’s edition of the festival, which will take place on August 24th, is of particular significance as it coincides with Ukraine’s Independence Day. It is an excellent opportunity to celebrate this important day together with the residents of Wrocław, discovering the culture of Ukraine, Poland and other countries such as Belarus, Turkey, Georgia, Syria, India, and Colombia.
The festival offers a wide range of attractions, including performances by local artists, workshops, a handicraft fair, and a unique opportunity for intercultural integration. Skovoroda Fest is more than just an event – it is a celebration that brings together different cultures and promotes mutual understanding in Wrocław.
