SUMMARY OF FOUNDATION UKRAINE’S ACTIVITY FOR THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2024

Growing up together with society. Current challenges and directions of Foundation Ukraine’s activity in 2024.

The first quarter of the year is already behind us, so we’ve decided to take stock of the early results for this year. And it turns out that… In the first 3 months, we managed to help almost 9000 individuals!

Check out how we managed this in our new report on Foundation’s activities for the period from 01.01.2024 to 31.03.2024!

The new year has brought us new opportunities for collaboration. We have taken on the implementation of another 7 projects, which have opened up opportunities for us to effectively support the adaptation and self-reliance of migrants in Lower Silesia.

As part of the project activities, we provided knowledge to about 1550 individuals who participated in over 80 events! This means that:

  • 109 migrants received comprehensive support in the legalization of residence and work by participating in our trainings and courses;
  • over 750 people participated in 35 meetings of the Polish Speaking Club and English Speaking Club, integrating and getting to know each other during the meetings;
  • 687 people gained new knowledge and skills during 42 educational and integration-adaptation events, such as ProMova club meetings, Cashflow, board games, quizzes.

During the first three months of this year, we managed to provide informational support in the areas of legalization and adaptation to 5930 individuals. Our specialists conducted over 2450 individual consultations, including over 300 legal consultations, over 60 career advisory consultations, and over 70 consultations on tax settlements.

Approximately 3470 migrants received professional advice remotely: through telephone and email consultations conducted by our legalization specialists.

Within the direction of support for children and adults with refugee experience, we managed to:

  • Provide temporary accommodation for over 140 refugees in Lower Silesia in the following locations: Wrocław, Lądek-Zdrój, Polanica-Zdrój, Kudowa-Zdrój, Karpacz, Szklarska Poręba, Legnica, and others.
  • Organize 372 hours of Polish language learning for 90 refugees at risk of social exclusion as part of 6 new language courses.
  • Support over 1190 school students and their parents with refugee experience in 25 schools in Lower Silesia, thanks to the employment of intercultural assistants.

In addition to the aforementioned activities, we actively executed the advocacy activities, representing the voices of refugees and migrants at meetings shaping migration policy. We would like to thank our employees for co-organizing the national minorities meeting “Wrocławska Kutia 2024” and actively participating in events such as:

  • Meeting with the Voivode of Lower Silesia, Maciej Awiżen;
  • Appeal Regarding the Situation of Ukrainian Refugees in Poland;
  • Meeting “Beyond the School. Analysis of Systemic Barriers for Ukrainian Teenagers Residing in Poland”;
  • IX European Congress of Local Governments in Mikołajki;
  • Conference on the Housing Situation of Ukrainian Refugees in Poland.

Speaking of successes in one direction of our activities, we must also mention our problems and difficulties in others. We observe an unfortunate tendency of decreasing donations made for Ukraine. Currently, fundraising within our charity campaign SAVE UKRAINE is progressing very slowly. We lack funds for the purchase and shipment of humanitarian aid, though Ukraine still needs support due to the ongoing war. Therefore, we ask you to stay responsible and emphatic!

Contribute to our efforts by donation to our SAVE UKRAINE fundraiser through the Foundation Ukraine website: https://fundacjaukraina.eu/saveukraine/.

We must not give up or get used to war! Remember that even the smallest good deed, a donated złoty, or sharing information can make a big difference in the lives of those in need.

Together for victory!
