Project Objective:
The main goal of the project is to expand the services of the consultation point at the Refugee Support Center coordinated by Foundation Ukraine and to create a professional space for the point’s employees. The project focuses on supporting and integrating refugees from Ukraine, especially in the cities of Wrocław and Wałbrzych.
Key Project Activities:
- Career Counseling: Career and business counseling was organized for 100 Ukrainian refugees in Wrocław. However, we exceeded the expected target by providing consultations for 192 individuals – nearly doubling the anticipated outcome.
- Childcare: To enable parents to benefit from consultations with advisors, we provided childcare services for minors at the Point. This not only facilitated refugees’ access to services but also created a safe place for children.
- Reception Point at the Railway Station – Refugee Support Center: Purchasing equipment and maintaining the reception point at the railway station was crucial to providing access to assistance for migrants. It is the first place where refugees can receive information and support upon disembarking from trains at the station.
- Children’s Corner: Equipping a children’s corner was an additional convenience that allowed parents to focus on consultations. Children had a place to play and spend time in a safe environment.
- Language Courses: Organizing language courses for 160 people in Wałbrzych was a key element of the project. Thanks to these courses, refugees had the opportunity to learn Polish, facilitating their integration with the local community.
- Integration Center: Purchasing equipment and maintaining the Integration Center in Wałbrzych helped us create a place for migrants and refugees to learn, obtain information, and access various support services.
The project is of great importance to migrants from Ukraine, helping them in integration, language learning, and accessing support. By exceeding the set goals, refugees were given the opportunity for better integration and professional development. Additionally, creating places such as the Integration Center in Wałbrzych positively impacts the development of social infrastructure, builds intercultural bridges, and increases support for migrants.
The project funding was provided by the Government of the United States.
